Gamer ChowWhen we think about food from around the world, stereotypes immediately kick in. In China, they have dim-sum, the Japanese have sushi, pasta reigns supreme in Italy and Mexicans have burritos. A couple of days ago, at Pod HQ (AKA Clark’s sorry excuse for an apartment), we were arguing about what kind of pizza to have delivered for the marathon gaming session we had ahead. Somehow, someway the argument mutated from pizza to Chinese food. Clark suddenly had a craving for General Tso’s Chicken. Idiotic as sticky food + controller = chaos. Safe to say I won because we got 2 boxes of pizza in less than 30 minutes.

Anyways, the argument got us thinking… What do gamers like to eat during their marathon sessions? Read More ►

When In-Game Advertising Strikes

by Clark

I’ve been hearing complaints about in-game advertising and how it affects “the essense of gaming”. To that I say: Stop whining and just have fun. In-game advertising is everywhere. Whoever didn’t figure out it was going to happen eventually must be nuts. Is it good or bad? Let’s say both. Every free game on my [...]

Anybody who doesn’t know the Angry Birds has been living under a rock… or in a cave, a secluded island, the middle of the Sahara or in outer space. The game developed by Rovio is everywhere, on all significant platforms – on Android, iOS, the Chrome browser, Googe plus games, Nokia phones, Windows Mobile, Windows, [...]

Excited for Diablo 3? Well, here’s something from Blizzard. No, it’s not open beta and no, it’s not a release date. They say its soon, but with Blizzard soon is relative. Relative to the time when man gets to Mars. Blizzard now has skill calculators set-up for you to plan your D3 builds.

No benchmarks were run, the goal was the highest CPUz clock. You can expect to be able to get your hand on a Bulldozer chip [...]

Forget Christmas this year, its all about New Year! That didnt sound right. DO NOT EVER forget Christmas and what it stands for. I’m just not all too excited about Christmas gifts this year. Thumbnail image for Blizzard Hopeful of 2011 Diablo 3 Release

Blizzard remains optimistic on a 2011 release for Diablo 3 but will not commit to a release date, not even a hint on what month it expects the game to ship. A 2011 release is indeed possible, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Diablo 3 beta season starts only at the end of this month, [...]

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was one of the games I was looking forward to in August. It was released 8 August and I got my copy 2 weeks later. Now, being a Final Fantasy, Xenogears, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc nut, its safe to say that I am a bit biased toward Square Enix so I had [...]

Today Razer reveals what it claims to be the world’s first gaming laptop. It’s built by a Razer-Intel collaboration so that sounds promising. It looks cool and comes with decent hardware with a $2800 price-tag. What separates this from other laptops built for gaming is it’s relative portability. It’s a 17-inch gaming laptop packed in roughly [...]
